MATT LYTLE,
BORN AND RAISED IN CINCINNATI
EDUCATION
In the 6th grade, I played Orlando in As You Like It, which is where my love and passion for theater began.
I received my BFA in Theatre Arts from Boston University.
I spent a semester in London studying Classical Performance at LAMDA.
I hold my MFA from Brown University/Trinity Rep.
ETHOS
With 15 years of professional experience as a director, dramaturg, producer, actor and teacher: I believe theatre has the power to transform culture (see Ayad Akhtar’s An Antidote to Digital Dehumanization? Live Theatre).
I am commited to both artistic excellence and civic duty. I received Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training from Art Equity. I regard accessibility and social justice as core tenets of my theatre making practice. I am inspired by the work of Mixed Blood in Minneapolis and use language from their strategic mission as a north star: “Ensure listening is a central activity…embodying radical hospitality”.

MENTORS
I wouldn't be where I am without many people, but there are a handful that I owe a call out to: Rick Dildine, Risa Brainin, Brian McEleney and Stephen Berenson.
I wouldn't be who I am without my mother and father, Shelly and Gary Lytle, my wife, Oriana, and the Cincinnati Bengals.
